Hi my name is Jacob and this is my journal entry about my trip west. I traveled by the side of Lewis and Clark. I was sent with them by Thomas Jefferson to explore the west. I traveled by a covered wagon, and it was a hard journey. The wheels broke, the animals got sick, it was very loud and noisy, and when I heard about the California Gold Rush I left Lewis and Clark. I traveled on Oregon trail and saw a couple of wagon trains. When i traveled, I was a gunslinger. I was a gunslinger because i knew i had to be prepared for anything, like indian attacks. When I made it west I made shelter and formed a ranch. I went to San Francisco and it was way to overcrowded. Then I realized it was a boomtown as more and more 49’ners started coming to San Francisco. So I did not get any gold, so I just went back to my log cabin and my ranch with no gold.
